Tsuka with Chinese Lantern Plants
(Japanese Military Armor)
The kashira is decorated with two Chinese lantern plants ("hôzuki"). The menuki are also in the shape of Chinese lantern plants. These plants bloom in the summer. This is part of a mounted set of sword fittings all depicting Chinese lanterns.
