Binding from Gloss on a Commentary on the Qur'an

This dark brown leather binding from Walters manuscript W.584 has a damaged, backwards flap with a central lobed oval with pendants and cornerpieces with arabesque designs on a gold ground. The doublures of red leather have a central geometric design. The binding is not original to the manuscript.
