Description This binding from Walters manuscript W.553 is not contemporary with the textblock. It probably dates to the 13th century AH/AD 19th. It is composed of black, blind-tooled leather (without flap) and has a central lobed, pointed oval and pendants. The pastedowns are of colored paper.
