Nose Ornament

Colombian (Calima style) (Artist)
n.d.
gold alloy
(Ancient Americas )

This gold nose ornament was crafted in the style of finery of the Calima culture of ancient Colombia. However, close inspection and analysis by our Conservation department has revealed that it was probably crafted in the twentieth century, and is not a pre-Columbian creation.
