This manuscript leaf, W.688, contains an illustration of a group of youths before a king and his courtiers that was executed in Iran during the early 11th century AH/AD 17th. Stylistically it relates to manuscript production in Shiraz in the 10th century AH/AD 16th and early 11th century AH/AD 17th. The painting is framed by illuminated borders in tones of gold. The back of the leaf has additional illumination and no text.
