Tsuba with Autumn Flowers
(Japanese Military Armor)
There are four autumn flowers on the front of this tsuba; pampas grass, bush clover, Chinese bell flowers, and patrinia. On the back are chrysanthemums. All of these plants appear regularly in visual art and poetry to indicate autumn.
