Armored Sleeves ("Kote") from a Suit of Armor ("Gusoku")
(Japanese Military Armor)
Armor such as this was made for foot soldiers during the peaceful Edo period (1615-1868). The embossed ironwork was designed for fancy dress parades, not battle.
