Tsuba with a Carp
(Japanese Military Armor)
The background of this tsuba is decorated in a beaded pattern known as fish eggs ("nanako-ji"). At the bottom, a carp is depicted among aquatic plants. The carp is an auspicious sign. On the back are two tree stumps and grasses.
