Bowl with Splashed Decoration and an Inscription
This bowl exemplifies ceramic influences across Asia in the medieval period. Even though it was made in Iran, the streaks of green glaze and dark stylized script on a white surface are meant to imitate ceramics made in Iraq under the Abbasid dynasty (750–1258), which in turn were modeled after Tang dynasty (618–907) Chinese imports.
