Tsuba with Heron in Marsh Grasses

Ittokusai Ryuo (Japanese) (Artist)
n.d.
sentoku, silver, gold, shakudo
(Japanese Military Armor)

On the right side of this tsuba, a heron stands among marsh grasses. The full moon is at the upper right. Both the moon and the heron are executed in silver. The silver has tarnished to a dark color, but would have originally been light. A tree stump and marsh are at the left on the reverse.
