Iron inlaid with brocade patterns and plum blossoms in shibuichi. Nine gentlemen near a stream, with names and ages inscribed in plaques, in taka-bori of gold, shibuichi and copper. One is reading a book at a table. Decoration inlaid and applied(?) Signed on lid with two seals after the signature. Inside the lid the Thousand Character Essay is inscribed. A three-clawed dragon is inlaid in gold zogan on the bottom and inside the box with a poem about the dragon inscribed on the inner sides
