Cast pagoda reliquary (sharito) (stupa-shaped reliquary) pagoda. Artisan's inscription inside bottom of pagoda. Dedication inscribed on door of pagoda.

Inscription

kazariya hanshiro sakutame hoin joyu dai osho; dai junana kai onshi fuku nari yui dai shamon myozo keian gannen [ ][ ] bishu, kaito-gun hachizuka chireizan; [Translation] Made by the metalworker Hanshiro/[Dedicated] on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the death of the great priest Hoin Joyu by his disciple Myozo, in the first year of Keian (1648), at the temple of Chireizan, in the town of Hachisuka, district of Kaito-gun, province of Bishu.
