Standing Cup with Cover
(18th and 19th Centuries )
Gourd-shaped standing cups with the stem in the form of a tree trunk originated in western Europe during the 16th century but were frequently made in Moscow a century later. This piece also has designs of conventionalized foliage and shells executed in repoussé.
