Diptych with the Deposition and 2 Apostles

This carved ivory diptych contains two scenes set beneath vaulted gothic arches. In the left panel is the deposition of Christ, whose body is supported by Joseph o Arimathea while the Blessed Virgin weeps in the background. On the right panel stand two apostles, their right hands raised in adoration while their left hands carry books.
