One from a series of grisaille wallpaper panels telling the story of Cupid and Psyche after deigns by Marry-Joseph Blondel and Louis Lafitte for the manufacturer Dufour & Cie. Dufour & Cie was one of the leading makers of wallpapers in the early 19th century. The firm specialized in scenic and panoramic designs, especially those with classical subjects.
