Completed for Paris use in the mid-1450s; miniatures illuminated by the Master of Jean Rolin II and an associate. Rebound s. XV/XVI. Gift of Louis Charpentier to Jean Boyd, 1662 (f. A): 'Ex Libris Joannis Bodii-1662:-/ Jean Boyd / dono dedit amicissimus Ludovico Charpentier'. Charles-Louis Frossard of Nîmes, s. XIX², identified on armorial bookplate as 'pasteur de l'église reformée de France / archiviste du synode général.'; not listed in his sale in Paris, 15 June 1909. Georges Hoentschel, Paris; his sale Paris, 14 April 1910, no. 3. Damascène Morgand, Paris bookseller; modern penciled notations: '8.a' (front pastedown), 'MSS français de 1450 environ' (f. 1). Henry Walters, Baltimore, between 1910-1931, by purchase, probably from Morgand.
