Cameo with a Bearded Satyr
(Renaissance Europe )
The type of subject, high relief carving, and highly worked mount suggest that this fine cameo was probably acquired as an "antique." Similar pieces are on display at the Walters Art Museum in the Collector's Study and the Chamber of Wonders.
