Genjigumo ukiyo-e awase
(Japan and Korea )
Danshichi Kurobei, the fishmonger hero of the play "Natsu matsuri" ("The Summer Festival"), puts a handgrip on Otori Sagaemon to keep him from bothering a courtesan. Danshichi had promised to look after the courtesan Kotoura's welfare, just as Genji looked after the welfare of his friend's daughter Tamakazura.
