Description This cross of bone carved in minute relief with scenes from the life of Christ has been encased in gilded silver decorated with the filigree enamel work characteristic of objects used in the liturgy of the Eastern Orthodox Church in Ottoman times. One side shows the Annunciation, Presentaion of Christ in the Temple, Baptism, Raising of Lazarus, Transfiguration, and Dormition of the Virgin; the other, the Nativity, Entry into Jerusalem, Crucifixion, Resurrection, Ascension, and Pentecost.
