Cylindrical Box (Pyxis)

Description Conservation Provenance Credit
Description This ivory box is decorated with roundels and drinking figures and bears an inscription in "naskhi."
Conservation

The painting on the box is worn but not altered. Copper alloy straps and lock on the box are missing but outlines remain in copper corrosion staining. The lid does not fit properly and does not have corresponding indications of past hardware. The lid appears to be a pastiche.
