Georg Kress von Kressenstein (1476-1544) was a member of a large, influential Nuremberg family who contributed to public life in many ways. Descendants of the family founded the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, an American philanthropic foundation that is a major supporter of the arts in their historical context.
