Priest or Sacrificing Man
(Roman Empire )
This flat, schematic statuette depicts a man making an offering. He wears a mantle over his left shoulder, covering his lower body, and on his head is a stylized foliate wreath, although of a different form compared to other male votaries. Also unlike other male priest or sacrificing figures, the phiale for pouring libations is held in the proper left hand, while the raised right hand appears to be empty.
