Sketch of Knight in Armor

Description Conservation Exhibitions Provenance Credit
Description Among the sketches that The Walters Art Museum acquired from Barye's descendants in 1949 were some studies of knights in armor. This particular subject was taken from a relief in the Louvre Museum portraying Roberto Malatesta driving the Neapolitan forces out of Rome in 1482. Such armor studies can be related to Barye's equestrian statuettes.
