A Vase of Flowers
(Renaissance Europe )
The play of light over delicate blossoms, highlighting them against a dark background is characteristic of flower painting in Naples in the 1600s. Giacomo Recco was the father of Giuseppe Recco, who developed the theme in a more adventuresome way, as in Walters 37.1856.
