Description This piece is sculpted in the round and depicts a nymph seated, nude, with a garland of roses. The piece is on a marble and gilt bronze base. At the time of acquisition it was attributed to Etienne Maurice Falconet (1716-1791), one of the most famous sculptors of the second half of the 18th century.
Provenance William T. / Henry Walters Collection, Baltimore [date and mode of acquisition unknown]; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
