One of a Pair of Vases
(18th and 19th Centuries )
The state-subsidized Imperial Manufactory at Sèvres was intended to serve the country by establishing high standards for production which could be followed by private industry.
At their bases and necks this vase and its pair, Walters 48.742, exhibit the linear, néo-Grec style of decoration prevailing at mid-century.
