Portrait of a Man

Description Conservation Provenance Credit
Description The position of the head and the tousled locks of hair date this animated portrait to the late Antonine period. The style of carving has created a play of light and shadow. The lengthening of the bust to include the chest, rendered here as a flat, vertical surface, is also typical of the period.
