Louis XV's goldsmith and bronze-caster, Jean-Claude Duplessis, père (1695-1774), produced the models for these rococo vessels. Antoine-Toussaint Cornaille (1735-1800) was responsible for the floral decoration. The turquoise ground color, "bleu céleste," was one of the first colors introduced at Vincennes.
