Description This plaque is one of four which were the ends of the lids of two caskets decorated with allegorical children's games. Here, three nude boys are pursued by an alert dog. One is seen from behind and carrying a basket; the second runs away; the third, holding a bone, tumbles on the ground.
Provenance Raoul Heilbronner, Paris, [date of acquisition unknown] by purchase; Henry Walters, Baltimore, 1910, by purchase; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
